Melanie studied at The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama where
she performed regularly in the college chamber choir & productions.
Roles included 1st Boy (Magic Flute), Euridice
(Orfeo ed Euridice), Clorinda (Combattimento di
Tancredi et Clorinda) & Amore (L’Incoronazione di
Poppea). In 2003 she began to work in Opera and worked with
several different companies including London City Opera (Madam
Butterfly USA Tour), Opera Holland Park (L’Arlesiana
and Fidelio), The Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company (Princess
Ida and HMS Pinafore), Carl Rosa Opera (HMS
Pinafore UK Tour), Wexford Festival Opera (La Vestale
and Prinzessin Brambilla) and Tower Festival Opera
(Anna Bolena). On the lighter side Melanie was engaged as a
Swing for the 2005 Thursford Christmas Spectacular. |

Melanie deputizes for the Guards Chapel on Birdcage Walk & recently sang
the Alto solo for Handel’s Messiah with the East
Croydon Bach Choir. Other Oratorio includes Pergolesi's Stabat
Mater and Tippett's A Child of our Time.
In 2006 she was
accepted onto the
Making
Music
‘Developing Young Artists Program’
in which she worked
closely with Ramsey Choral Society. As a result she has been invited
back to perform for their Summer Proms.
Future
operatic engagements include Pitti-Sing (Mikado),
Ensemble (Falstaff) with Grange Park Opera and Beggar
Woman (Sweeny Todd) Millrace Productions. Oratorio
engagements include soprano and alto solo's for Arthur Somervelle's
The Passion of Christ. |
